About Gilbert

Dr. Gilbert Moatshe is a specialist in orthopedic surgery working at the Orthopedic Department of Oslo University Hospital (Ullevål). His expertise lies in arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries, with a focus on knee surgery (including cruciate ligament and other knee ligament injuries) and shoulder surgery (including instability and tendon injuries). He gained additional training in the USA and Canada at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic after completing his specialization (fellowship). Dr. Gilbert Moatshe holds a doctoral degree from the University of Oslo in knee surgery.

Actively involved in elite sports and sports injuries, Dr. Moatshe conducts research in this field. He has authored over 100 scientific research articles and book chapters. His research group has received numerous international awards from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Dr. Moatshe also conducts courses and lectures both nationally and internationally.
